What is a painting class like at The Painted Cabernet?
The classes are a stress-free group setting where an artist instructor will guide you step-by-step through replicating the class painting. You will be sure to go home with a painting that is uniquely yours and you will be amazed at the artwork you will have created. The classes do start at the set time, so we suggest you arrive 15-30 minutes early to check-in and get the get your paints and stop to purchase drinks at the bar. Classes last approximately 2 to 2-1/2 hours and there are breaks.

What is The Painted Cabernet doing to follow COVID-19 Regulations?
Our first priority is the safety of our painters and our staff. We follow all state and county regulations. We are currently hosting in person classes. The studio and all supplies are disinfected between all classes. Masks requirements follow local and state guidelines: Required if not fully vaccinated, optional if fully vaccinated. We do not check vaccination cards, please use the honor system.

Are you still offering virtual classes via Zoom?
No, we are not. Because restrictions were lifted, we are focusing on in studio classes.

Is the Painted Cabernet an art instruction studio?
While you will learn how to create a painting you'll be proud of, the focus is on fun and having a unique night out. During the class we're playing fun music, enjoying fine Central Coast wines and you get the chance to socialize with your date, friends or significant other. It's a class you won't soon forget and our instructors place an emphasis on having fun. We do offer advanced classes periodically for those more serious about learning new techniques and working with locally famous artists...but still having fun.

Do I need to sign up in advance?
There is limited seating, so we highly recommend signing up in advance. The easiest way is to register online by going to our calendar page. You will be able to view the featured painting for each class and you can request to be seated with your friends. You can also call our studio directly and register over the phone. We have a studio in Santa Barbara and Oxnard. Sorry, reservations cannot be make through email. Please note that payment in full is required to make a reservation.

What is the cost of a class at The Painted Cabernet?
The price for each class is $40 and NO LONGER includes a complimentary beverage. We may occasionally offer a specialty class at an additional price. Check our Specials page and Facebook to take advantage of ongoing specials!

What is included in the price?
We provide everything you will need for the class: a 16" x 20" canvas, paint, brushes and easels.

What do I wear?
We recommend wearing something comfortable you wouldn't mind getting paint on!

What time do I need to arrive for a class?
We recommend getting there 15 -30 minutes prior to your class to get registered, get your food and purchase and drinks, and get situated. Classes start promptly and you will need a few minutes to get settled.

What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. You can request a refund or a credit towards a future class. Cancellations must be made by phone (leaving a voicemail is fine). We understand there are last minute emergencies - if you need to cancel within the 48-hour cancellation time-frame due to an emergency, we can offer you a class credit (you MUST call before the class to receive the credit). We are sorry, but we cannot give refunds or class credit for No Shows as we have saved your spot. Thank you in advance for your respect of our reservation policy. COVID Cancellation Policy: If you have any symptoms of COVID we ask that you cancel immediately. We will follow our cancellation timing, and offer a class credit if you cancel within 48 hours of the class. Thank you in advance for your respect of our COVID policy and keeping our painters and staff safe.

Note: The Painted Cabernet reserves the right to cancel a painting session at any time due to class size, weather, sickness, etc. If we feel we need to cancel a painting session, every attempt will be made to notify those that have signed up for session. If you paid online, you will be given the option of rescheduling your session or a refund will be made.

Should I call or email for changes to my reservation or for cancellations?
It is best to always call the appropriate studio to make changes to your reservation or for cancellations. Reservations cannot be made via email. If you would like to add seats to your reservation, we do recommend that you call. If you are having trouble making an on-line reservation, we are happy to help you over the phone. Because we have limited hours right now, you are also welcome to email us at info@paintedcabernet.com.

When does the new schedule come out?
We try to post our schedule at least six weeks in advance.

I missed a painting that I really want to paint! How often will you repeat paintings?
Please let us know! We will keep this in mind when scheduling future classes!

Do you provide Wine?
We offer wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. We prominently feature wines from the Central Coast. We will also offer Champagne, mimosa’s, bellini’s and beer. Other beverages such as water and soda are also available. Wine can be purchased by the glass or bottle. Please remember you must be 21 years old to enter our premises, as we are considered a wine bar.

Since we are a wine bar, our business does not allow BYOB at this time.

If I come with a friend or a group, can we all sit together?
We always try to seat friends and parties together, safely. When registering for a class, be sure to have everyone enter a "Group Name" and we will make sure to seat everyone together. Note, current regulations require that groups only sit together if they are members of the same household. In order to seat everyone together, we do have assigned seating. If you forgot to list a group name, please call us and we can update your reservation.

Can we host a private party at The Painted Cabernet?

Can I change the style of the featured painting?
Absolutely! Our guests are welcomed to change up their unique art piece. Our instructors will be there to answer any questions or provide some advice.

What is the age limit?
Guests must be 21 or over to attend any of our classes. Because we are selling alcohol, children or individuals under 21 cannot enter the premises. Unfortunately, the State of California will not allow us to have children enter our premises, even if we don't serve alcohol.

Can I schedule a painting party for my child?
Because you have to be over 21 to enter our studio, we cannot have a children’s party there. However, we are happy to bring the party to you! See our Private Events page for details.

What is your policy about expired coupons or refunds?
We are currently accepting all Coupons regardless of expiration date. We know that we were closed for some time and want our painters to use their Coupons. You must present all coupons/cards/gift certificates - no exceptions! If you registered for a class and paid full price and have a new coupon, we cannot refund the difference. However, you can consider using the new coupon for a future class!

I have a coupon code and it does not work. Should I just make a reservation and ask for a refund?
Please call us as soon as possible so we can help you with your reservation. No refunds please! You must present your coupon, so don't forget to bring it!

I won a free class. How do I make my reservation?
Please use the coupon code listed on the back of your card to make an online reservation. You also have the option to call to make your reservation. You must present the card! No refunds if you made a reservation and present a coupon at class check-in.

I have a coupon for a free class. Can I make the reservation for more than 1 person?
We do recommend two separate reservations - 1 for the free class using the correct coupon code, and 1 for a regular seat. However, if you end up making 1 reservation for the two seats, please know there will be a balance due at check-in since you were not charged for the 2nd seat.

Do you offer food during classes?
We have snack offerings in our studios - chips, candy and gourmet chocolates.

Can I bring food?
Because of the limited space, only small plates of food are allowed. Please, no platters of food or cakes are allowed. We do not stock plates or utensils. Cupcakes are a good alternative to a birthday cake.

Do you post class photos on your Facebook page?
We do take lots of photos of the fun and entertainment during our classes. If you prefer not to have your photo posted on Facebook or on any of our marketing materials, please notify us immediately.

Are you a chain or a Franchise?
We are a small, family-owned business, and are not a chain or franchise. We want the business to have a local flair and we do our best to promote and work with other local small businesses.

Can I take home the wine glass?
Sorry, these items are not free and when customers accidentally take them home, it does hurt our small business. Remember these items are for sale if you would like a souvenir!

Do you allow dogs on the premises?
We love dogs! However, because we are serving beverages, the health department will not allow animals in our studio. Service dogs are gladly welcomed, but please do not take advantage of this rule and bring your pets.

Do you offer an Axxess Deal?
